    Artist History
Lead vocalist and song writer Jim Blackmon VI comes from a musical family. He is a fifth generation musician. His great great grand father and great grandmother were state fair champion fiddlers. His grandfather played guitar in Jimmy Davis' (the guy who wrote "You Are My Sunshine" and would later become governer of Louisiana) band and played with musicians such as Lou Childers and Hank Williams. His grandmother was a singer in the Birmingham area during the 1940's and had a brief association with the Grand Ole Opry and has performed on stage with Lonzo and Oscar. His father has been associated musicians in Muscle Shoals and with Birmingham bands Concrete Cactus, Dresden, Burning Zoo and Red Giant. Originally from Muscle Shoals, Leaving Jezebel is Jim's attempt to show his singing and song writing abilities. There is also eight year old Jim Blackmon VII waiting to make his mark on the future of music.

Review of "That's Alright at Gods of Music This is a great example of southern rock all the elements are here soaring guitar, gravely bluesy vocals and driving drums. This is not a classic rock band though they have a very contemporary sound. This is a solid original performance on a well structured piece. The guitar break is reminiscent of Duane Allman or Eric Clapton. The only flaw I found was the mix in the early section of the song. The vocals seemed to take a back seat to the guitar and drums. I think this happens alot when the musicians mix their song because they feel their instruments are more important than their vocals. If a remix would be done to accent the vocals in the early section of the song this piece would be damn near perfect!!!
