Artist History
Howard Bishop Ellis has written and performed throughout the Midwest since his
college days at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. He collaborates extensively
with other songwriters in the Milwaukee area, composing, recording, and performing.
Ellis’ songs fall within the adult pop, alt/folk, and Americana genres, and he also
composes for film and video.
Ellis has performed regionally with The Vainglorious (with Alex Hofmann), Womens'
Liberace (with Allen Keller), Angels of the Himalayas (with Timothy Gilbert), and The
Us Project (with Scott Berendt). He has played at Summerfest, Rainbow Summer,
Bastille Days, the Locust Street Festival, and at numerous clubs in Milwaukee,
Chicago, Madison, and Nashville.
He has also appeared locally in dance theater performances with Danceworks and
members of Et Tois Tu Danses?, and on Minnesota Public Television. Several of his
compositions were used in 2002 in an independent film project, "3:47" , by Dan Wilson
and Bartoli Filmworks in Milwaukee. |
