Artist description
fullgrown is a Charlotte, NC based acoustic duo playing original compositions as well as choice cover tunes. The duo plays what has been dubbed "soulful folk-n-roll" and claims heavy influence from greats such as; John Prine, Crosby, Stills and Nash, David Wilcox, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Aretha Franklin, and, well, you get the point...
Founded in early 2002, the duo features Matt Hatfield (acoustic guitar and vocals) and Angie White (vocals), fullgrown has shared the stage with such acts as Barefoot Manner, bellyfull, Green Light, Mad Dog Trio, The Rude Mechanicals, Tater, Blue Bambooza, Todd Joseph Band, Abe Reid and the Spikedrivers…
fullgrown performed at the 1st Annual Farm Fest @ Puckett’s Farm Equipment in 2002 and the Sprouting Grass Festival in 2003, as well as performances in and around the city of Charlotte, and continues to build a growing fanbase through live performances and a rapidly growing mailing list.
White and Hatfield alternate on lead vocals, but you can always count on some of the most soulful two part harmonies that fill up the room. With the completion of their 2002 demo recording, and regular recording and writing sessions, the duo has developed an extensive set-list of well-written music that boasts their heritage, and is making plans to record their first full-length album.
The performances are interactive, inviting, humorous, and heartfelt. The songs are the same. This is American life. This is American music. A little bit of blues, a little bit of rock, a trip up the mountain, a sip on sweet iced tea, and a big heaping spoonful of soul. This is fullgrown.
