Artist description
Frontierizo
Sounds of Frontiers
The Guajira surges as an inmense line of wind warmed by a reverberant sun, unreachable for the human sight. It is a unique landscape, charged with hidden sonorities of the eolic action. From there, frontierizo, a musician from the village of Maracaibo, sends the world a progressive musical statement.
Musician sans frontiers, Enrique Rincon assumes the name frontierizo as a wordgame derived from the “Spanglish.”
Frontier or fronterizo mean for him two key concepts: his music explores the popular roots of the sounds that caractherize the social atmosphere of the towns that surround the state of Zulia.
A reality that the Colombian-Venezuelan streams fuse, mix and recreate in a deep and complex Universe, subject to the intervention of creators who, like frontierizo, try to vindicate (and offer the world) such sonorities.
