    Artist description
My name is Scott Goodrich. I play guitar and sing in Somewhat Random. This is my solo project called 24 Hour Remedy For Failure. It has a very horrible sound quality so I am in the process of re-recording the 12 songs on it along with 7-10 new songs that will be alot more well written and thought out. That sould be done in 5 or 6 months I'd say, so look foward to the real CD about then. These are just some teaser songs to let you know how they sound. There are some that are really dark on this project but the ones here for now are just more sad than anything. no screaming. These songs are a lot different than any Somewhat Random song, just so you know not to expect them to be similar.

    Artist History
These songs were written between August 15th and 16th (24 hours): 1-Please Say Its All Over 2-Slowdown (Boilmaker/New Amsterdams Remake) 3-The Understatement of Sad 4-Running Straight Into Every Wall I Can Still See 5-Trading A Van Gogh For A Kid Painting 6-Subtle Outrages 7-A Little Too Much Make Up 8-Invisible Target Bullseye 9-The LB Song 10-Nostagic Relapse These 9 songs plus 1 remake were written on two of the most emotional days of my life. The story behind it involves my girlfriend at the time moving back from Oregon and breaking up with me right away for a bunch of made up reasons, which were designed to hide the truth which involves months of deceptions, lies, and back stabbings while she was there, which didn't get brought up or discussed until a few weeks later. The singing is not quite up to what I think I pull off, but thats ok cuz it was recorded in 2 days, and you can hear the shear emotion at times, becuase I recorded it as I felt it. Not much elaboration was put into the lyrics, I pretty much just said what I felt like saying at the time, so it came out a little simple on the creative side of things. Killing A Rock Star Takes Too Many Needles and The Sunset That Skipped The West were written in October after I had time to discover many fine details about everything, and get over a lot of my feeling and move on with everything. Killing A Rock Star sounds like a Modest Mouse song kinda, and has an almost errie double vocal polyphony to it. My freinds tell me sometimes there is just "too much Scott" to some songs, but I think I can pull off many diffent styles of singing and mix them together to make one very original style. These songs also have a jazz aspect to them. There were a few parts that were completely improvised in the recording process and they came out a little jazzy at times. Thats about all. Sorry about the tin sounding noise in the background. Im poor and dont exactly have the best recording equipment. The good CD will be done soon.
