Artist History
Sometimes when looking for something fresh, it's best to go back to your roots. I mean WAY back. After rocking together in several pop-punk and emo rock bands for a few years, the members of Ten Speed Marathon (formerly Halfcab) found themselves retreading worn-out creative territory with waning desire. Just when collapse seemed imminent, a new spark was ignited by the members' individual experiments in electronic music. Inspired by childhood favorites such as Tears For Fears and amazing contemporary acts like The Faint, the boys decided to rework their best rock and roll material with the synthesizer voices and electronic beats that have come to engage and enthrall them. Focusing first on crafting music to their ears, the band is now poised to spread their sound, dubbed "emolectro" by their friends in synth-pop outfit Elkland, to the world at large. |
