Artist History
Some people were in a band in high school;
others were in the band. Eric and Greg managed
to do both. They met in the jazz band in Florida
and quickly exchanged a genuine love for music
of all types, which naturally had made them both
gravitate toward punk. They formed a band and
tried to impress the ladies.
Punk fun came to an end when Greg left South
Florida for Washington, DC and Eric moved on to
Gainesville. Eric started the band Isiah and
Greg continued his trend of being in very
brief bands whose other members went on to
become famous (Further Seems Forever, Shai
Hulud, The Rapture and Black Eyes to name
a few). However, his love of backpacking and
the wilderness of the west lead him away from
the DC music world he also held near and dear.
Meanwhile Willie left his suburban Philadelphia
home to attend school also in the capital. He
helped form Midvale. Through Midvale Greg and
Willie became casual acquaintances, Midvale
broke up and Willie moved to Tallahassee to
become an overly educated Archaeologist.
Greg decided to more permanently plant himself
in DC and concentrate on music once more while
becoming an overly educated Geographer. Eric
decided to take a job as an overly educated
Chemical Engineer in Northern Virginia and they
started playing together once more. Then after
one glorious show at the Ghosthouse, the third
and elusive member of Eric and Greg’s union
moved to Jacksonville to teach Mechanical
Physics at a small college. Sad but not daunted
Eric and Greg were determined to rock. Then Greg
got word of Willie moving back to DC.
One night while drunk on cognac and precariously
perched on a roof in Mount Pleasant Greg
approached Willie about the Rock. Willie
succumbed. Then the boys picked up a copy of
The Dirt by Motley Crue (none of whom are overly
educated or have ever moved between FL and DC)
to learn the ropes…
