Artist description
KING FELIX are a three piece guitar group from Sydney Australia. KING FELIX play passionate melodic rock and roll, rootsy and punky at the same time. Forming in January 2003, the group decided their mission was to write great songs and play them with maximum heart and soul. KING FELIX music contains no gimmicks - controversial subjects or offensive language - just well crafted songs with intelligent lyrics. Apart from their 60s Garage and Country Rock (ala Byrds, Stones, Dylan) stylings, KING FELIX defy description - mainly because they just don't sound like anyone around today. If you're sick of slick corporate clones and fake alternative wannabes, then KING FELIX is for you. |

Artist History
KING FELIX was formed in January 2003 as a casual side project for Ned Alphabet and Carl Ekman, both former members of Sydney garage punk nosebleeds Roll Cage. Ned and Carl had already recorded together in The Freak Bros (Ned Alphabet's band) and had independently released a seven inch vinyl four track EP entitled Shit Town. During a Roll Cage sabbatical Ned and Carl decided to continue with The Freak Bros songs, and invited Andi Jackson formerly of the Hunchbacks (Carl's old band) on drums. And so was KING FELIX born. KING FELIX played their debut show in February 2003 at the KB Hotel Surry Hills Australia to a small but enthusiastic response. Realising the great potential in their original songs, the band started to focus on further songwriting and rehearsal, which culminated in the recording of SHAPE YOUR MIND, their debut release. |
