Artist History The Ritual was formed in November of 2002. We started off with Mike Locke on guitar, Roger Ellison on vocals, and soon reunited with Alex Phillips on drums. These three have reassembled after the disintegration of their original band together, Angry Kid (MP3.com/angrykid). Roger and Mike have also played in other bands together including The Soothsayer. Alex has also played for Number the Stars in more recent years. Mike's song structure and catchy rhythms, combined with Alex's fast paced, intricate beats, linked with Roger's raspy yet melodic vocals formed the base for what we have become. The next addition to the band (as of January of 2003) was Chris Arango. He currently plays bass for A Jealousy Issue. Much of the music we have would not sound the same without his unique low end. The last addition to The Ritual was Frank Banisi. Frank also plays in A Jealousy Issue with our bass guitarist, Chris. Since his addition to the band in September of 2003 our sound has taken on a much more captivating tonality filled with contrasting chord voicings, rhythmic diversity, and a fuller live sound. These five individuals come together to make something unique, something special. The Ritual.
