An overnight sensation, Alexas took Europe by storm. Citing most talented European Artists as musical influences, Alexas years of consistent work writing, recording, and performing throughout Europe has cumulated in his first Russian language album "STAR" which included the song "Silent Cry" already on the top of the play lists at major radio stations all over Russia and throughout Europe. Even before being signed by a record label, Alexas had already performed at the "Song of the year" awards, the Russian equivalent of the American Grammys; the only artist to ever do so. His album was a hit throughout Europe, even in non-Russian speaking countries, thanks to the powerful combination of a great musical arrangement and a powerful voice-the lack of understanding of the language was never an issue. Alexas wrote and co-produced the majority of his songs, making his music a unique and original cross of mainstream pop/dance/elecronica even with some middle Eastern twists, setting him apart with his own niche of sophisticated pop sound. Right now Alexas is working on his cross over English album and the first 5 songs are going to be released in a few months. Alexas music is already well played in the Russian-speaking clubs throughout the US. Artist History Alexas grew up in the world of music, studying music, singing and dance at Eastern Europe's most renowned schools. His performances never failed to impress the audience, and he was offered positions with international companies. However, Alexas passion was writing and performing pop-music. In 1991, at the age of 15, Alexas first got to perform his own music on the popular TV show Morning Star, an Eastern European version of Star Search. Alexas soon developed quite a following and performed on many tv shows, public concerts, nightclubs and special events. The music community, too, respected Alexas because he always wrote all his own material and insisted on singing live. This was rather unique because with the lax copyright laws in Eastern Europe at the time, most performers found it easier to plagiarize songs from the West, and most performers lip synced to pre-recorded tracks. Alexas career really took off in 1997. He had #1 hits, he was recognized at European music award shows, and even enlisted by politicians to rally supporters on the campaign trail. Alexas has always been very close and thankful to the fans that made him so successful. However, since childhood Alexas always dreamed of performing across the pond in the USA. He even taught himself English at a very young age, and surprised everyone with his ability to speak English fluently without even a trace of an accent. So, in 2000, Alexas made the difficult decision to leave his established base in Europe and the fans he loved so much, and head for New York City to start a new career. He was well received in New York at popular night clubs such as Life, Limelight and Roxy and is now working on his first album for the US market.
