Artist description Hi, My name is JoAnne Brown, I am originally from northern N.Y. state. I have lived in Florida for ten years. I have always loved to sing, and growing up I sang at rotary clubs, Church and at school. I sing mostly traditional country, some modern and gospel songs. My husband and I married young and raised three children, and now we are on our own again. About four years ago we were at our local flea market when they had Karaoke. When I finally got nerve enough to sing, I sang two songs and that was the beginning, I was hooked! From then I have sung at places locally and have been in contests and shows. In 2001, I was in the "Best of Texas" show and won an award for "Outstanding Performance". In March of 2002, I was in "TCMA" show in Nashville and won an award there. October of 2002, I was in "Best of Texas" show again, and won two awards, one for "Music Achievement" and one for "Outstanding Performance in a Showcase". I have also attended The King Eagle Show. I signed with KMA Records in 2002 and have the most respect for everyone there. I have just completed my first album, which will be out soon. The name of the album is, "Country My Way" . I have had the pleasure of meeting three songwriters, whose songs are on the album. The song "Oh Carolina" is a true story based on the songwriter's life. My future is busy, as I am booked for the state and county fairs, and also the Strawberry Festival. I am also looking for bookings in other states. Someday, I would like to do a Bluegrass and Southern Gospel album. I am enjoying every minute, and if I can look into the audience and see that I am bringing some joy into their lives, then that's what its all about! It just goes to show you that it is never to late to start a new interest and enjoy what time we all have left on this earth, Love You All, JoAnne Brown.
