Artist History It’s a long way from New Orleans to L.A., maybe even longer than you think. Especially if you leave there from rural Louisiana seeking fame and fortune, knowing that your sister lives “somewhere” in Cali, and believing that California is about the size of Rhode Island. Had he known how far it was, how big it was, and how far Los Angeles was from the Oakland home of his idol, Too Short, he probably wouldn’t have left. But he did make it, did find his sister (one of 14, seriously), and did start rapping. Then he found his producer, started his own company, and he’s hitting the clubs, working the crowds, and making sure people know who he is. Now three years later he is releasing his first record on Power Hungry records, mixing the dancefloor-friendly sounds of West Coast with Down South party lyrics.
