Artist History
DJ Karl's first musical experiences were classical piano
lessons and playing trumpet in school band. At
age 15, he got inspired by many of the hair-metal
and alternative bands of the early 90's to
learn how to play electric guitar.
At college in 1997-1998, he started learning
how to play lots of popular alternative rock tunes.
Karl played bass for a rock band which only did a handful
of shows, but did manage to open for a small P.O.D.

concert at a hole-in-the-wall club in Springfield,
Missouri (of course, this was in 1997, before POD
had made it big). "We also opened for Fern and Flick
(www.flick.net) before they were signed to Colombia."
Karl also toured internationally with the
College Concert Orchestra and College Jazz
Band. With dreams of becoming a rock star and afraid
of becoming an accountant lost in the rat-race of
corporate America, upon graduation
he joined a rock band Michyksaseal, headed up by Eddie Gumucio
(http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Towers/5733/)
and played through the recording and release of
the band's first full-length independent release,
WANDERLUST.
That summer, amidst the reggae rockers of his college
town, Karl bought his Roland MC-505, with intentions
of mixing electronic music and going solo by fall of
that same year . . .
After moving back to Tulsa, Karlito eventually got
a job at a start-up Music-Go-Round in Tulsa, and
played with many musicians he met there. Eventually,
his most stable weekend gig was mobile dj-ing for
Emerson Entertainment, and eventually DJ CONNECTION--
the finest mobile DJ company in North America
(www.djconnectiontulsa.com)
Today DJ Karl is still mobile Djing for crowds of several
hundred every month. His clients and audiences
LOVE him. In his free time he writes and remixes
music. He hopes you enjoy it as much as he does.
