Artist History
Formed in '91, Ringchildren have been playing
their own brand of heavy psychedelia in the
San Francisco bay area and beyond for
nearly a decade.
In '93 they signed to Depth Charge Records to
release two full length albums. Ringchildren have
spread their lunatic circus live show far and wide, complete with an assortment of fire, smoke, lasers, sword/fire/belly dancers, and happy beer.
They have played at such events as the S.F. Making
Waves Music Festival, the AV-13 Music Festival in
Calaveras, various Gavin Convention showcases, and
the 1996 Burning Man festival in which Ringchildren
closed the festival on the main stage just after the "burn" with a
heavy, blistering set (following very rockin
sets by friends the Mermen and Idiot Flesh).
The band went into hibernation in 1998 when guitarist
Michael Berg packed up his bowl and broke north for
Minnesota. However the Children still occasionally rise from
their slumber to fire up stages in their native SF bay area
and other astral locations. The individual members have
also lent their talents to numerous other bands
such as Fuzz Bucket, Galaxxy Chamber, Spanish Fly,
Pain Mechanic, and Apocalypse Theatre, among others.
Ringchildren still holds the spontaneous green sessions in the lab and is
currently stirring up new material to set on fire
and pass around. So be on the lookout, and don't
blink or you may miss it. Peace.
