Press Reviews BAM Magazine - THE BEST ACOUSTIC-STYLE MUSIC IS UNDOUBTEDLY THE KIND THAT PLAYS OFF ITS seemingly “gentle” unplugged status by interjecting a fierce sting into the formula. Both the rawness of the acoustic format and the cutting element are magnified by contrasting each other. And Michael Kadenacy, a local singer/songwriter who haunts the obligatory local coffeehouses, manages to make his barbs beautiful by combining haunting, rich vocals with simple minor-key guitar. The result is rather like what, say, Alanis Morissette would sound like----minus her female, production, and “screetch” factors, of course. In other words, all the lovelorn power; none of the terrifyingly hair-raising octaves. And probably none of dear Ms. Morissette’s “star”-attitude,either. So, for those who recognize the charm of fierce songwriting but loathe the outlets it sometimes ends up in, here ya go! Isn’t this just a perfect world?
