Artist History
Put together by former “Sighs” member, Tommy Pluta ,The band was born in the summer of '97. .Mary's First has become the Pioneer Valley's premier "PowerPop" band riding the airplay success of their song “I Know” on 99.3 WHMP. They’ve also piqued everyones ears once again with the realease of their latest single “Heavens Falling” The band has been around for two years, having spent the last year playing New York City and throughout New England. Their influences (Beatles, Cheap Trick, Raspberries, Bob Mould, Posies) flavor their music as does their distinctive vocal melodies, ringing guitars, probing lyrics and rock solid pounding rhythms. Their brand of aggressive guitar pop has been tagged by the industry as the “Next Big Thing.” The music tells a story of personal relationships as the lead singer delivers his lines with a certain intimacy. Their songs are smart, relevant and outrageously catchy. The instinctive union among these four musicians - immediately evident during the bands electrifying performances - is a reminder of what can be achieved when musicians never lose sight of the fact that the song is the most important thing. !!! |
