Artist description GD is a solo artist, he writes and perform his own music in different genres and styles, including electronic/dance, instrumental and glam/rock. His musical style is a fusion between the melodic pop music of contemporary instrumental authors (Pat Metheny, Vangelis and Jean Michelle Jarre), and the pop/rock vocal style of the ’80 Glam Music (David Bowie, Bryan Ferry and Paul Young); he plays using the most modern technologies, including the Roland VG8 (he had create a patch card for it available on the VG8.com site), and an his own creation, the V – Mandolin (and original Napoletan mandolin that drives synth sounds). GD is one of the most networked Italian artists, he also performs live including in his exhibitions interactive videos in line to the multimedia show style, by using images and lights with the music in real time; GD electronic/dance music is used in the fashion industry as an important part of the fashion showcases of many emerging stylers; also he compose music for movie trailers and films. The sound of the GD’s compositions is a mix of ‘live acoustic sounds’ of wood instruments, and modern electronic machines like synths and samplers, to create a fresh sound with a strong acoustic impact and a futuristic expression at the same time. GD is also know as a member of UNICEF’s Net Aid Organization.
