Artist History
I'm a 41 year old, single-parent, black female. I started singing at the age of two. By the grace of God, my mother and father taught me everything I know about singing from my heart with soul. I began my singing career at the Bethel "A" Baptist Church junior choir and progressed as I got older. I was born and raised in a small town called Brevard, North Carolina, also known for the Blue Ridge Mountains. At the age of 29, I decided to join the Navy as a Storekeeper (SK3/E4). After serving during the Desert Shield/Desert Storm War from January 1991-May 1992, I cross-rated over to the Navy Music Program. From that time on, I had served 7 years as a Navy Musician Vocalist. I had the pleasure of traveling many places, both in the United States and Overseas performing with the Navy Band. September 1999, I was awarded as The San Diego Navy League's Junior Runner-up "Enlisted Woman of the Year". March 2000, I was also awarded "Woman of The Year" by the Women Internat'l Center of San Diego, CA. It was an honor just being nominated for such prestigious awards. During my career as The Navy Vocalist for Naval Region Southwest, I had performed for various events singing (A cappella), "The Star Spangled Banner" for many events such as: The NFL Games, The MLB Games, The Plymouth Holiday Bowl (College Football) and The San Diego National & International Black Film Festivals. I have performed for various groups such as: Jazz Big Bands, Top 40/R&B, VIP Combos, & Weddings. These are to name a few of the performances I have made in my singing career.
