Artist History
Coby Brown grew up in Boston, where he studied songwriting at Berklee College of Music, moving to New York City in 1997 in search of a group of strong players to help round out his sound. In New York, he met drummer Justin Varnes while the two were studying music at the New School. Justin, in turn, brought on the rest of the group and the band was officially underway. The group regularly plays at venues in New York such as Shine, CB's Gallery, the Wetlands and the Lion's Den. Some of the group can be seen as part of Phoebe Snow's national touring band.
