Artist description
Ciaran Hope is an Irish composer whose compositional interests transcend musical stylistic boundaries. In September 1998, he was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to attend the world renowned UCLAFilm Scoring program and is also the holder of several other awards at present including two 1999UCLA Extension Department of Entertainment Studies and Performing Arts Student Scholarships,the National Training Commission for Film and Television Bursary, the Arts Council of IrelandPostgraduate Award, and the Meath Co. Council Arts Award.In recent times, Ciarans music has been performed at many festivals and competitions, including the Symposium of Brasilian Computer Music(SBCMIV) inBrasilia(1997)- where he also had a paper on Morphing presented -, the Electro-acoustic Music Festival of Cadiz in Cadiz Spain(1998), the 1998 Siemens NixdorfFeis Ceoil - where the piece was the winning performance at the Contemporary Music Cup-, and the 1998 RTE Musician of the Future Festival in Dublin Ireland,-where the piece won the IMRO prize for composition. His music was also a finalist in the 1998 International Clarinet Association Composition Contest, and the1998 International Song for Peace. His music has been performed in the USA, Brasil, Spain, Czech Republic, Ireland and is due for broadcast on Brasilian NationalRadio in 1999. His music has also been recorded and broadcast on RTE FM3 Classical radio - Irelands national classical radio-station. In 1999 alone, Ciaran has had Orchestration credit on an upcoming Disney feature, has composed music for several Hollywood Feature Films and has Music Editor credit on several TrimarkPictures productions.
