Artist History
Singer/songwriter Osama Malik started playing with saxophonist Ricky Parrell early in Spring 2001, performing a string of shows at local coffee shops in Harrisonburg, VA. That summer brought along drummer John Hardwick, and the birth of Evergreen Terrace. Soon after recording their first studio tracks, vocalist Beth Maskey joined the band, adding a new dimension and expanding the range of Evergreen Terrace's music. The band was completed with the addition of the band's good friends Tim Gardener on bass guitar and Casey Wood on lead guitar. All the members have been friends for years and some have even played together on other projects, still each member brings something different to the table. Evergreen Terrace's music can be described as a blend of styles ranging from jazz, acoustic rock, ska, and folk, which is brought out through their on stage energy and extended improv jams. The band is currently continuing to play both full band shows as well as more laid back acoustic sets which is rapidly growing their own steady fan base among college students. |

Press Reviews
"Evergreen Terrace has a wonderful life in its music seldom to be found in college bands. There is talent jammed into each song and coming out its ears, from intense riffs by Parrell to the classically trained Maskey lending soul and heart. Especially standing out are the harmonies between Malik and Maskey, sublime and flowing. Malik and Wood have a remarkable sharpness and energy to their guitar parts, so much so that they bring to mind a duel between Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds. And there is Gardener on a driving, jazzy bass, who, along with Hardwick, manages to sneak melody and sound into a part previously there to keep time." - Thomas Beppler - THE BREEZE
"Evergreen Terrace's combination of strong melodies and moving rhythms dont just ask you to have a good time. They demand it!" - Chris Castiglione - STIGGY.NET |
