Artist description Chase Faber is from Rockford, IL. He has been playing his own music for audiences now for over 6 years! Only being 21 years old this is quite remarkable. His first musical venture was a small punk band in Rockford called Public Performance. They played mostly house parties and local venues. This was short-lived, however, as Chase’s tastes in music quickly diverged from the rest of the band’s. Most of Chase’s contemporaries explored punk and ska. Chase latched onto a more vigorous, acoustically driven style such as that of the Dave Mathews Band. His next musical venture rocked Rockford (pardon the pun) for the next 5 years. SpoonfulJC was the realization of Chase’s vision for a jam-style band. He employed many talented musicians, including a violinist, to help him create the music he envisioned. With the break-up of SpoonfulJC this past fall, Chase is looking for places to play his latest style of songwriting. His tastes in music have once again drifted away from where they once were toward an even mellower, pop sound. Listening to bands like Owen (from American Football) and Dashboard Confessional have greatly influenced the change in Chase’s music. However, his unique history with punk and acoustic rock can still invade his sound.
