    Artist History
Former A Day in the Life alumni, Andy Lazier, and 16 year old aspiring guitarist and song-writer, Nate Duling got together with aspirations of starting a band... Unknown to them, 10 miles away Lazier's former band-mates, Josh Bethel and Jesse Blair were doing the exact same thing. After going over song ideas and musical direction, the foursome began to craft songs featuring busy Jazz influenced drumming, intricate guitar and carefully laid out song-writing. After a few months of playing, perfecting and tweaking their music, the search for a vocalist \ had begun that was just as versatile and talented as the rest of the band. Jesse recommended his cousin, Justin Netherly. Justin tried it out and they knew on the spot he was what they were looking for. After playing local shows, they decided to hit the studio to put their songs to tape. They traveled north to the Lunchington Studio in Dublin, Ohio and cranked out their 5 song debut self-released "Astronaut E.P" in just two days. Eager and determined, "The Chicago Typewriter" is now booking and planning a series of tours for the summer of 2003 up and down the East Coast, the New England states and the mid-west.

    Press Reviews
"...talented musicians who seem to have an innate ability of song writing. The music itself has a tight and orderly sound" - DaytonScene.com "...their ambitious song-writing has allowed the band to avoid the trappings that will rocket their peers to temporary success and almost certain obscurity down the road. So while the Chicago Typewriter's Astronaut may be taking one small step in "emo" history, it's making a giant leap in the right direction -- toward delivering "emo" music that's worth listening to." -Bettawreckonize.com
