Artist description Sonic Lord are a four piece from the city of opportunities that is Birmingham, England. Our sound can best be described as fat weed induced riffs, laid back drums and the heaviness of bands such as Black Sabbath,Sleep,Sloth,Electric wizard and Goatsnake. The stoner/doom crew are Rich - Gut wrenching vocals,Rob - drums with the mighty sideburns, Dave - guitar who has a penchant for big muffs and Todd the four stringer who has a degree in bowel wrenching GROOVES !!!! Formed in 2000, We started writing a few songs together and recorded our first self titled demo, Very few of which saw the light of day! it wasn't until april that we made our live debut, to a large crowd at the little civic wolverhampton. More gigs followed throughout the West Midlands, and more songs were written. June 2001 saw us in the studio to record our second demo GARGANTUA recorded at Robannas in Birmingham. We then embarked on our first tour organised by Stonerchick giging allover the country, culminating in an extremeley well received slot at the Heavyfest in Bradford surpporting the mighty Khang,Silverburn,Marshan,Blackrock,Sloth and many more. April 2003 We decided to look for a new bass player to give Rich more freedom on stage. Welcome Todd our new bass player who brings his own unique heavy heavy rumble!!! Currently, We have just recorded our new demo titled Trawling Through Sludge. We are seeking more gigs outside birmingham in an effort to spread our slurred word a little further. SONIC LORD -"Gargantua"- These sludged out sonic stoners sound just like you'd expect a band called sonic lord to sound. Bowel wrenching grooves, ten inch thick bass riff action,smoked out retro sludge and cosmic doom. They sound like they'r feeding directly of that first sabbath album and its glorious production values, they taste of things like st.vitus. There's a lot of these retro stoner sludge bands emerging, the important thing here is that Sonic Lord do it gloriously well, they're up there with mighty Khang with their heavy heavy rumble. Damn fine demo.
