    Artist History
Prepare yourself for the sounds of fight like gentlemen, crashing pop/rock with vocal harmonies and melodies that you can't get out of your head, colliding with aggressive, yet smooth guitars and driving percussive beats that command you to move in unison with the music. It's been a fast paced but exciting joy ride for the Barrie, Ontario based rock band fight like gentlemen. With their tight harmonies and high energy live performances fight like gentlemen has gained respect and recognition. Beginning in 2002, the band's D.I.Y. work ethic and untiring passion for playing music allowed them to play a steady stream of shows throughout Ontario, and log thousands of hits each week from fans on their website- all without financial backing from a record label. There were many long nights, many dues to pay. fight like gentlemen‘s hard work eventually attracted the interests of Toronto, Ontario based Xiola Records. The independent rock label realized the potential of this band and signed them immediately. The result of this new working relationship is the release of the way this city goes. The fight like gentlemen conceptual new album that combines the eclectic musicianship of modern rock bands like Weezer and Sloan while paying homage to rock stalwarts The Beatles and The Beach Boys. It is music played with an undeniable urgency. The fight like gentlemen story began in the small town of Barrie, Ontario, Canada when long time friends and previous band mates Brett Caswell and Tony Servello joined forces and started cranking out some of the most progressive, most energetic songs the region had seen. Soon after picking up bass guitarist Dave Murray the band started practicing in earnest and adding to their growing song catologue. Next percussionist Rob Drake joined the fold and the band was complete. Their sound was a melodic, schizophrenic blend of staccato rhythms, vocal harmonies, and a hammering two-guitar assault that took them from playing backyard barbecues to headlining and selling out local venues literally overnight. Backed by an intensely loyal fan base, eventually secured a headlining slot among twenty bands at Freedomfest 2002, an outdoor rock festival and repeated that headlining performance at Freedomfest 2003 in front of another frenzied crowd of concertgoers They performed their expected high energy live show, kicking it up a notch, earning huge approval from the audience and thumbs up from industry reps in attendance. In November 2002, fight like gentlemen independently released a six song E.P., “Hours of Operation" to an overwhelming response from fans and local media. The band sold all 500copies of the initial pressing in less than four months strictly through live performances. Their grassroots success story quickly caught the attention of Jason Croke CEO of Xiola Records. On August, 2003, fight like gentlemen signed with Xiola and rushed into the studio to record their first full length CD and is planning to tour nonstop in support of their national debut. Whether you're listening to the schizophrenic, love-stained rock of "Waiting For The Day", with its haunting melody and odd time changes, or the tight harmonies of "Wish I Knew You", an anthem calling legions of soon-to-be converted fans to join the ever growing fight like gentlemen army. the way this city goes is a tenacious, passionate recording that reflects the hunger and determination of a band fighting to overcome any obstacle in their way. As the coming years will show, there shall be no stopping fight like gentlemen. FLAG BURNER RECORDS PO BOX 215 TORONTO, ON.
