Artist History
Forming in late '97 playing "nu-metal for nu-metal kids", the band were an instant hit with local crowds, consistently filling small venues. After a year of moshpits and partying Dilutral soon grew bored with the limitations of their style. In late '99 the band regrouped with a new guitarist and a new approach to making music. As the band moved away from their basic hardcore roots (whilst not forgetting them) their many varied influences have allowed the music to grow. With two contrasting guitarists taking it in turn to provide solid riffs or haunting melodies, and a rhythm section acting as one tight unit or forming loose breakbeats, the band have found a trademark style of their own. The blend of drifting ambiguous lyrics and powerful evocative harmonies have brought Dilutral's music to the attention of people who usually avoid the style, whilst still appealing to even the most hardcore of listeners.
Dilutral’s 2000 release 'Everything; Nothing' EP received national critical acclaim and comparisons to the likes of Vex Red, Miocene, Faith No More and Tool, high praise indeed! Having already played with Lostprophets, Raging Speedhorn, Fony and most recently (and unusually) opening for Steve-O of Jackass fame in front of nearly 2000 people, Dilutral are now preparing to move onwards and upwards.
With their new EP 'Phi', Dilutral have tapped even further into their collective psyches creating a sound more focused and powerful than ever before.
