Artist History One Away Biography Formed in early 2003, One Away was created by musicians of different musical backgrounds. David Lacopo and Pat Rossi, the two original members of One Away, had been together since 1998 under the name of Flush. In early April 2002, frontman, Pat Rossi, drifted away from Flush and joined a band known as Evolution. Joining Evolution allowed him to meet and develop a good relationship with a promising young guitarist, Bobby Bisciglia. Evolution later on experienced a break up but Pat and Bobby persevered in writing music together and then called on David to join them. Soon after a “Drummer Wanted” add was posted up, Robert Tremblay auditioned for the band and immediately became a member of One Away. The band later called on an old friend, Jesse Zito to complete the band and to become One Away’s bassist. Discarding such ideas as Cow Parade and Girls out Loud, the band was in search of a name that would properly represent their philosophy and their music. Believing in the idea of limitless achievement, the theory of there always being a greater challenge binds them to accepting that they will always be One Away. After debating the chemistry of different musical styles, the band quickly became comfortable with each other and found their musical niche. An intriguing mixture of catchy chorus lines and melodic guitar leads became One Away’s recipe for providing an overall easy listening and enjoyable musical experience. One Away has many different musical inspirations. Growing up through the grunge and alternative rock era, the five members knew that bands such as Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots and Nirvana would automatically play a role in their influences. However, their love for different styles of music also allowed them to expand their influences to newer bands such as Our Lay Peace, Tea Party, Finger Eleven and ColdPlay. The all time classic bands such as U2, Gun’s N Roses, Led Zeppelin and The Beatles, could in no way be left out as major influences to the writing style of these five musicians. One Away is confident and eager to be heard as they continue to evolve and exploit their creative potential.. Their passion for playing and writing music is the driving force behind each and every one of their songs. For One Away, every song must be an experience; a journey away from the constraints of life and into a super-conscious world of emotion and passion. One Away hopes to reach the hearts and souls of many generations and leave their mark in the world and time of music.
