Artist History
What started as a group of friends jamming in a garage in late 2001, soon turned into a band with a unique blend of musical genres.
The band formed with only three members: Eric Kramp, Steve Berke, and Mark Medrano, all friends throughout high school.
After graduation, Eric, Steve, and Mark began to play for fun in Mark's garage. They soon had a small repertoire of original songs, including Take Something and Shadowed Smile. They decided to record these new songs to create the soundtrack for a short film Steve was working on.
While in the studio, they realized that they would need a strong vocalist to round out the mix. The three quickly turned to Cara, whose singing in theater had always impressed them back in high school. Cara's singing did indeed provide the group with the perfect complement to their music.
After their time in the studio, the group took a long break during which they pursued other interests. However, eventually, the allure of music couldn't be denied and they started up again full swing. They brought in Jason Porter, another high school theater dork, to play the bass while Eric decided to play guitar exclusively.
Soon after, the band decided to play their first show. It was a great success, and, thus charged, the band began to practice much more rigorously.
Soon after their first show DJ Sneeze, yet another techie, joined the group with his turntables. Thus was born the current incarnation of ©83. A band that spans across styles and genres.
