Artist description
Dice & K9's progressive approach in MOBB MUSIC’s every song has earned them the respect that is due. Mainstream critics often accuse Hip Hop artists of being reluctant to look to other genres for influence. Dice & K9 address this misconception through their collaboration with Cebu’s Rock artists Urbandub and Powerspoonz. The combination of rock, emo and hip-hop on the song “Apart” is a euphonious innovation that will separate the true players from the perpetrators. The live band backing gives Dice & K9 the freedom to explore these roots, defying the current trend in hip-hop of remixing early '80s hits. The group, like many artists striving for originality, is obviously disgusted with the overproduction of party hits, their sound conscious of musical influence instead of drugs and money that is prevalent in Rap. |

Artist History
Dice (Dice Rosaroso) and K9 (Miguel Calina) are part of the 3-member "back to basics" Hip Hop group known as the Anthill Mobb and have been in the local music circle for almost 10 years. Pain (Kris Villarino) decided to stay low because of work reasons last year prompting Dice & K9 to continue and experiment with new beats that are more than you would expect from the Anthill Mobb; a 360 degree turn, Dice & K9 don’t do Hip Hop. They do Music. That is what’s clearly stated by the Cebuano duo through their masterful skill with the turntables and sampling machines favored by hip-hop producers, 6000 Goonz, catering to the style of each member of the Hip Hop collective. |
