    Artist History
Two Pump Chump started from 3 lesbians and a can of tuna-fish at a Billy Graham Crusade. Current members are Dave Bennett (bass) formerly of Bottoms Up (A Village People tribute band), Brad Mattingly (lead guitar) formerly of Air Supply, and Scott Cook (lead singer), former backup singer for the band Banana Rama. Back in 1991 Scott and Brad formed a southern-rock band called L.I.A.R. (A.K.A. Life In A Rut). For 3 years L.I.A.R. sold-out shows on the backyard circuit until the band broke up because Scott and Brad were having sex with the black (African American) bass player, Scott Larkins. In 1996 Brad and Scott spawned a second southern-rock band know as Kave Hill. With 2 CDs and one show, Kave Hill broke-up in '97 because the bass player ate the drummer prompting Brad and Scott to kick him out. In '98 Cook and Mattingly joined James B. Smith to form the band Freedom. After 9 excruciating months they kicked James B. Smith out because his songs made the rest of the band question their own heterosexuality, which, after the Larkins scandal, was already (at best) arbitrary. Alas, after the Freedom debacle, the first incarnation of 2 Pump Chump was born: a group of miscreants consisting of Brad Mattingly, Jason Eldridge, Benny Benningfield and Scott Cook. After sell-out performances with Rock band White Noise [(recognized primarily by hair-band-purest bassist Dave Moody) (go Steelers!)], 2PC drummer Benny Benningfield left the group to pursue alcoholism. 2PC quickly recruited former porn-star idol Steve Hayes to drum as they recorded their self-titled debut CD which included such hits as their #1 chart-topper Trailer Park Love. In 2001 2PC played all the biggest venues in Louisville, including Whiskey Bob's, The Maple Inn, and Union Station. The band also opened for National Recording Artist Super Fuzz in Richmond KY, prompting one local newspaper writer to comment, "2PC is better than my band." In 2001 things went bad for the fledgling group of melody makers. Jason Eldridge (bassist) was kicked out of the group because no one liked his wife and Steve Hayes left to become the chief projector-operator at the local XXX drive-in theater. 2PC is currently in the studio recording their second album, Done In 60 Seconds, with new and old (he quit yesterday) drummer Lee Owens. The band, being the philanthropists that they are, recently performed at a benefit concert at Union Station for 3,000 people and two teeth. The bands current line-up: Scott Cook (rhythm guitar, lead vocals), Brad Mattingly (lead guitar, back-up drinker), Dave Bennett (bass guitar, Jews Harp) & Sean Saunders (Drums, chick procurement).
