Artist History
Double edged, bone crushing, fire and brimstone powered metal joined with hardcore and heavy punk influences. A united force of five combined to unleash utter terror and destruction setting loose the forces of darkness to pillage and plunder forevermore across the earth.
Originally spawned in Stratford, Ontario in 1999 under the name Flatline, the band toured the Ontario circuit as a quartet (Adam, Geodi, Scott) with former singer Rob Scarborough. Although the band was well received at shows they failed to inspire the metallic frenzy that the group was searching for. After recording a four song demo the band agreed that they needed a heavier, fuller, battleaxe swinging assault and there was only one thing to do. They needed to find a second guitarist.
In the summer of 2000 Kyle Betts joined the group, bringing with him the explosive ferocity they had needed. The band rocketed back onto the music scene this time inciting fury of emotion within each audience they played to. Shows began to grow and the band began to amass a following, groups of people trailing them from show to show being led by the music of a malevolent Pied Piper. The five then cut an eight song E.P. entitled To Our Glorious Dead which although was well received still lacked one component that the band had strived to attain. Their singer simply was not strong enough to carry them into hell and back. His voice perpetually lost in the skull and crossbones explosion of guitar, bass and percussion. The music was destined to carry on, the singer to stay behind. Five went into hell and only four returned.
In the spring of 2003 Flatline had run its course. Now lacking a vocalist the foursome were ready to make the next leap, to march out of the hellmouth bringing with them the darkness, fury and fiery intensity that would devastate all obstacles in their path. Music that was fast, hard and technically profficiant that combined elements of punk, hardcore and rock thereby fashioning a unique brand of metal harder than steel itself. They were ready, but needed a singer to lead them into their new crusade. It was then that Kyles phone rang, like a sort of immoral intervention, and their leader had found them. Vocalist, Tom Renaud, had heard word of the new sound and knew a singer was in need. Having performed for years in other groups, most notably Slave 1, he was the ideal choice and brought a gargling glass audio assault coupled with soothing melody that was needed for the group to ascend. That was the day of their birth, the creation of Thems Fightin Words, the creation of pirate fuckin metal.
The crusade has started, the battles are victorious. Look for them as they march across the newly darkened earth, look for them. Theyre coming for you.

Press Reviews
They manage to combine the riffs of the Master of Puppets school, with an epic and musically emotional atmosphere. SEVENTH SIGN (London)
On the whole, TFW's debut show was a great accomplishment and shows a tremendous amount of promise for the young band. I hope to be kicked in the ass by their full length release soon. INSIDE STRATFORD (Stratford)
