Press Reviews
Harmonic strumming, warm melodies, and lo-fi sensibilities start to describe the music of Impressing Hane. The East Hollywood duo mixes Nashville Country and Sixties influences with the energy of the of Indie-Pop and Garage. Hailing from Diamond Bar, California, singer/guitarist Jim de Corpo’s lyrics balance between the carefree music of the past and the melodramatic undercurrent of today’s alternative music. Jim was the original keyboardist of LA’s Funk Rock ensemble "Double Freak", and a founding member of Pomona’s early 90s Post Punk power-trio "The Loungers". Bassist Abbie Zands brings his 1960s-by-way-of-San Diego sensibilities and tour experience [legally unable to name the bands, but you’ve heard them, trust me] to Impressing Hane and donates the rich bottom required to give songs such as "The Same" and "Something and Whiskey" their exquisitely bombastic shape. Look out for the unique sound of Impressing Hane at local venues throughout the Los Angeles area.
