Artist History Chico's Paradise got started in Aspen, Colorado. Scot Ranney and Andrew Simmons have been playing music together since 1993 when they worked in Korea. Scott Mercado and Scot Ranney played together at the University of Washington in the late 80's. Scott Mercado then went on to play in the band Candlebox for several years before wandering the earth and eventually finding a place in Chico's Paradise, among other bands.
