About the Artist
Originally from Baltimore, MD, Seth Mitchell moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1991 in search of a better music scene (and better weather!). Not long after performing solo he had established himself in several top Phoenix bands. Because of his extreme versatility as a keyboardist, guitarist, singer/songwriter, and arranger, his talents as a “utility musician” did not go un-noticed. In 1996, Seth landed a U.S. tour with rock guitar legend Michael Schenker. Although not his genre of music, he was right at home on stage providing both backing guitar and keys. That led him to record a live MSG album in Tokyo, then on to the European leg of the G-3 tour with The Michael Schenker Group and Joe Satriani, all the while honing his songwriting and performing skills. A studio album with the group soon followed.
With those experiences behind him, Seth decided to launch his own career as an artist.
His self-produced and performed debut album entitled “Pictures” has just been released on his own label, Common Thread Records. Fusing together unforgettable melodies and lyrics with even more passionate songwriting, “Pictures” is a palette of different styles, moods and instrumentation. “My main goal as an artist is to move people emotionally in some way with the art of songwriting”, Seth says.
