Artist History
EILERA’s album Facettes is the result of a long time collaboration between two people, Eilera herself and Loïc Tézénas, both of them living in the French southern town Montpellier.
The album is representative of a style which has come to maturity. Their two previous recordings were presented under the band name BLISS (demo 1 and 2) and contributed to the elaboration of a very personal style, somewhere between experimental pop music, rock/metal and Celtic atmospheres.
Eilera and Loïc both come from the metal music scene. After years of classical guitar and singing for Eilera and of Jazz guitar studies for Loïc, both of them took the path of melodic metal, mainly with the bands Kalisia and Chrysalis for Loïc and with Chrysalis for Eilera.
With Kalisia, Loïc worked on a mini-CD which was released in 1996 by French label Adipocere Records. Their other recording was a concept-album.
In Chrysalis, Eilera is a guitarist – together with Loïc! - and she composes the music and writes the lyrics. A mini-CD was recorded and released in 2000 (Adipocere Records) and an album will be recorded in September 2003.
With these bands both of them get an experience of recording and of the stage.
But Eilera and Loïc quickly desired to see different aspects of music, and go further.
Their collaboration begins in 2000 with the first home-studio recording for Bliss. The music at that time was a mixing of electronic sounds with metal music. Several concerts will follow, revealing a personality which surprises and attracts the public’s attention. Some musicians – cello player, guitarist, keyboards player and drummer – work with them on these occasions.
In 2002, Loïc and Eilera record their second demo, still in home studio.
It is in 2003 that Eilera and Loïc find their identity and the direction to take. The metal roots can still be felt in the general atmosphere and in the sound of the guitars, but they are used with a lot more delicacy than before. The same with the electronic elements, used in an original and innovating manner. The Celtic colour which could be slightly felt in the previous recordings is now clearly part of the Eilera’s style.
The RESULT of all this is an album which is original, easy-listening and innovating at the same time, of a very rich, delicate and refined music carried by an uncommon and strong-tempered voice.
EILERA is now a name, a personality and a strong musical identity.
At present, the duet is looking for a manager and a distribution or production/distribution contract.
EILERA is also preparing the concerts to come.
