Artist History
formed in 2001 Enthrall was formed with one goal in mind and that was to try to change the minds of people who say death metal is all no talent noise.Enthrall during it's first inception was a three peice but soon realized that they were missing one crucial element and that was the right vocalist who bring together the brutal sound that the musicians of the group were putting together. After trying out a few potential people(of which some confused Slipknot with death metal)Enthrall called on a old friend Aaron Katavich.Aaron brought the group not only it's name but meaningful but insisive lyrics along with that a death metal vocal that would shatter most of the professionals of today. So with the group complete Chris with his unbeatable double bass and great sense of timing on drums,Mike with his ability to write truely original guitar riffs,Jason's complex understanding of music and giving the people what they want and finally Aaron's uncompromising vocals and writting Enthrall have had modest sucess in their short time of being on the local music scene and with hope of continuing on as far as they can possible go. |

Press Reviews
They told me to give them the worst review I could. But how the hell could I slag on one fuckin' killer death metal record?!?!? Full-on, blistering death metal is the order of the day with new Akron-based death metal band ENTHRALL. Bringing to mind slower MORBID ANGEL and KATAKLYSM with a lot of their own trappings, they do not fail to impress. I've seen them live twice, and I have to say that everything you hear on the CD can be backed up, even the occasional clean vocal here and there. Everything about the CD is killer, right down to the black CDR it's made with. I'm always impressed most with the deep vocals of singer Aaron Katavich. They're some of the deepest and clearest I've heard, and he doesn't do that godawful gurgling crap that a lot of brutal bands are doing these days. Through and through, excellent performances from all members, however. The drums are spot-on, the bass-work is incredibly independent of the other parts at times, and the guitars - HEAVY. My strongest feeling with the CD, however, is the quality of their songs. They're well-written, and don't jump from riff to riff as often as a lot of other brutal death metal bands. They pay attention to what they're doing in that department, making each song sound differently. I appreciate it, as a metal fan. I think this is sold out at this point, but you might be able to convince the band to make one for you. At any rate, you could maybe steal one from someone you know. Just get it! |
