Artist History
One Perfect Minute is the culmination of many things: years spent blasting away on cheap gear in friends' garages, line-up changes, countless gigs, and the drive and devotion of four friends looking to live their dreams. One Perfect Minute began in the doldrums of high school years when Nick and Bryce, hopped up on boredom and pop-rocks, began playing together on a regular basis. Mikey soon joined the fold formerly known as "Slacker", and with Ed soon aboard after a chance meeting with Nick at Berklee College of Music. With Ed in, the band was soon rechristened, and they quickly began writing the songs that would become their debut album, Opaque. The band decided to take a "break" from school to concentrate fully on their music. In January of 2003, they entered into the studio with producer and friend Ray Nesbit, who they had signed on to produce their album. The songs comprising the album were all written collectively, with input from all members, making it rather eclectic overall, yet all the while possessing a stylistic unity. With influences from Silverchair, The Smiths, Rush, Finger Eleven, Incubus, Thursday, Radiohead, James Brown, and Elliott, the band has forged a unique and powerful blend of their individual influences into an original sound.
