    Artist description
We are a modern rock band hailing from the outskirts of L.A. called the Inland Empire, yes the 909. We have powerful, cynical, mood altering, depressive songs. What confuses people is that we can go from pumped up aggressive music to slow melodic songs. We have a unique sound and don't sound like most of the bands out there. All these singers sound the same but then again, they're all from, oh well whatever nevermind......
    Music Style
    Alternative/Modernrock/Hardrock/...Emo, huh?
    Musical Influences
The Cure, Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Ned's Atomic Dustbin, Jane's Addiction, Depeche Mode, Petshop Boys, ABBA, The Carpenters

    Artist History
If you want in depth history on the band, check out www.confusion91.com (under construction). We'll have a temporary aol site in the mean time. We have info and songs on a few websites so we don't want to keep on repeating the exact same info on the other sites. This'll be quick. Confusion91 is a modern rock band that started way back on November 22nd, 1991. Originally a dark gothic thrash band called "Black Orchid", it consisted of Shawn Joslin,Bass, Sean Ly,Vocals/Guitars, Jason Basoco,Drums, Ace A.,Guitars. Sean Ly got kicked out Jan. 92. We remained unnamed until we called ourselves "Sleepwalker" in summer 1993, after one of our favorite cover tunes. In 1995, we changed our name to Confusion under Brass Star Records because of our clashing styles and attitudes towards each other. We started to sound like a party punk band which is a direction that I didn't want to go in (Ace). Shawn Joslin after leaving the band a few times permanently left in 98' (with a short return as rhythm guitarist for a few bigs shows in Jan-March 2002)and long time buddy ole' pal Patrick Langford became new bassist in 99' along with the name change of Confusion91 symbolizing the year we started, (I guess there's a bunch of Confusion bands out there, jeez). Our current sound now started to evolve around 96/97'. For years our shows have always been difficult because we get stuck playing shows where we don't fit in....metal,punk,ska,garage,rapcore bands, etc. We stuck out like a sore thumb and were not liked but we managed to find new fans at each show. We have our first professional full-length album due out this summer with a possible second stage on the Vans Warp Tour. If we decide not to go on the tour, then we'll have our record release party and do a west coast tour this summer from San Diego to Seattle with a few shows in Vegas and Arizona promoting our new album. Local radio for us is X103.9 and KCAL 96.7. Watch for our songs on the radio this summer. Bye for now.
