Press Reviews
A music fan from Amazon.com USA , August 18, 1999 "Ditchdiggers Bring It All Back Home Again The spirit of the first alt-country music "movement" lives on in the music of this ragged band of Atlanta boys. Names like Sid Griffin,Country Dick Montana, Dan Stuart, Jim Podrasky, or Chip and Tony Kinman (maybe Jason Ringenberg, but I doubt it) aren't gonna turn up on any VHI "Where Are They Now?" special, but in their day they sang loud and played hard, straight from their reckless country souls.... it's their own feelings and confusion and good times they're trying to honor. There's nothing on any rubber stamp-approved No Depression album ...to match this record's "Holy Roller" or "Blue Mama Cool," Chris Gray's preacher-on-a-bender vocals, or Bryan Stuart's shape-shifting rock and roll guitar. You want a modern honky tonk, complete with spilled beer, broken glass, broken strings, broken hearts? Come on in, buddy. ". |
