Artist History THE BACKGROUND JOINTS ... Energy travels in strange, perfect ways - the positive flow can always bring out enlightened inspiration when you least expect it. Like adrenaline, deep and pulsing... Keyboard player and producer Roland M felt that same vibe after leaving behind old projects and forming the basis of LIQUIFIED — an exciting, fresh blend of funked-out drum n bass, jazzy downtempo hip hop, and a sultry female vocal presence — all thrown in the musical blender to become something flowing, groove-heavy and soulful at the same time. Roland hooked up with vocalist Gillian Holland and dropped the debut CD, "13 Methods of Hallucination" on World Domination /KOCH shortly after. Stirring up hypnotic urges in loungers, ravers and breakbeat junkies, the trio solidified the live attack with double - bassist Mike Bann, Rhodes electric piano and smooth, dope breaks to dispel any myth this was only DJ music!! The massive was soon in on the trip... here and now...Well, lots has gone down since '98! The CD is pushing LIQUIFIED into the North American and European scene, the label was bought out by KOCH, and LIQUIFIED was on thesearch for fresh new vocal styles. Roland knew a collective approach was the way to go. This came in the form of the deep, soulful, jazzy sounds of the lovely Niki Brody and Sacha. So the process changed, the music evolved, and the result became future and retro,organic and tech, chilled and frenetic: all comin' together to represent our different tribes of sound and motion.
