Artist description PHOEBUS has always been about dynamic and diverse power. We are a hard driving melodic rock band. Our lyric content deals with issues everyone can vibe with. Our vocal expression is filled with sonic harmonies and aggressive overtones.

Musical Influences Our influences are rooted in punk, hardcore, and thrash. Bands from this era include Government Issue, Cro-mags, Superchunk, Tool etc... Our sound can be linked to many of the greats from rock's past as well. Our members are fans of The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Rush, Pink Floyd etc...The list of artists would take the entire page...there are so many great influences we couldn't possibly list them all.

Artist History PHOEBUS: Hard, aggressive, alternative with a touch of DC HARDCORE is the bare bones description of our style. SCOTT FREY and DAMETRIUS collaberated similar influences to form the beginnings of what would later be known as STOVEPIPE. Adding third member JASON ROBINSON, from local thrash band SILENCE, set the band in motion as a three piece ensemble. STOVEPIPE remained a three piece for four years building a large following in the DC metropolitan area. The recent addition of front man WADE JENNINGS, former vocalist for local hardcore band L.D.KIDS, brought the band full circle. With the new line-up came the new name entitled PHOEBUS. After four years the band is motoring along as a four piece, best noted for intense live performances and musical energy. PHOEBUS is currently working hard to complete a full length CD. The band has built a fan base playing shows both locally and regionally. RECENTLY, THE BAND HAS WON A SPOT IN D.C.'S WARPED TOUR BATTLE OF THE BANDS SPONSERED BY THE GUITAR CENTER, AND VANS. GLORY BOX WILL CONTINUE TO PLAY MANY SHOWS BOTH LOCALLY AND REGIONALLY AS WELL AS PUSH FOR PRESS IN LOCAL AND NATIONAL PUBLICATIONS. Additional Info This is a grave time for rock bands, as we are becoming more jaded with each day that passes. Nothing is out of our reach now, except an intense need to get connected to the intimacy of a sweaty, smoke filled room where rock was born. PHOEBUS reconnects us with the past and present blending soulful tones and melodies with hard driving guitar riffs. This band will take you back to the guitar, back to vocal harmonies, and in your face rock. So what happened to rock? Rock has always been about necessity, creative conflict, and giving it to you straight like a car crash or collosal train wreck. This can be found in the sound that is PHOEBUS.
