    Artist History
Formed in 1987 by bassist/Stick player/vocalist Tom Shannon and drummer Don Medina in the South Bay area of Los Angeles. There have been many personnel changes over the years most notably the departure of original guitarist/vocalist Harrison Pearl in 1990 and Don Medina in 1991. Tony Martinez replaced Harrison on guitar & vocals and Mark Hanson replaced Don on drums. In 1996 Tom, Tony, & Mark released their debut CD, `Paradigms for a New Quarter.'Tony left the band in 1997, however, his younger brother Vince was available and took over for him. He even sounds like him when he sings! In 1998, D&T decided to start recording a new CD. Five tracks were complete by early 1999 when Mark decided to leave the band. But fortunately for them, like any good soap opera plot would have it, original drummer, Don Medina was available to rejoin the band. The new CD, "Theenigmathatisman" features both drummers and on two tracks, percussionist Mark Segal (Paper Bag, Sativa Luv Box,Freehead) and a trumpet player named Bal on another two tracks. Unfortunately, in January, Tom was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in his brain. The tumor was succesfully removed in February 2001 and Tom is recovering remakably well from the surgery. The band is currently rehearsing a set and will be playing local clubs in the near future to promote the new CD. Also, they have added an additional drummer, Dean McCall. Some shows will feature both drummers if the stage size permits. Other shows may only feature one of the two drummers. Check back here for updates.
