Artist History Formed in 1990 and tried out different singers for a couple of years, untill Fredrik the guitarplayer started singing in -93, or someting like that. Have used loads and loads of names, but there is no use mentioning them here.Got signed by Dolores Rec. in Sweden in -95 and released one 6-song EP and one fullength CD in -96. Got licensedeals with Manifesto Rec. i the states, Alfa Rec. in Japan and some label in Australia. After that we played a couple of gigs in Sweden (the Hultsfred festival was one) but after a while because of some problems, nothing more happened. Now we're back and last year we released a 7" single on the wonderful PopKid Records.We're currently picking out and rehearsing new songs for a new album to be released on PopKid Records (Alan for president). Hopefully we'll get it out sometime later this year.

And their "Poems & Short Stories" is just what I need to survive a much too wintercold Sweden.Fredrik, Christian, and Niklas serve us 30 minutes of spicy powerpop. You can hear fragments of Dinosaur Jr. and Buffalo Tom, but Chester Copperpot don´t really need any comparisons. The album is full of great popsongs. "Strawberries", "Derome", and "Lyrical Gangsta" make me so happy that I can eat black pudding by mistake. If you put a single guitar solo in the middle of the record, if you play on empty bottles, and if your hottest desire is to be the supporting act for Thin Lizzy, then you deserve to hit big. Like all great bands these days, they hail from Sweden and play this wonderful blend of punk and smooth 50s kinda feel-good pop music. Imagine, if you will for one surreal moment, STARMARKET playing in the diner in "Happy Days" and the suburban teens are lapping it up under the Fonz's watchful eye. There, you have CHESTER COPPERPOT. I think. Anyway trust me, this is way better than all that generic pop-punk crap you all buy by the thousand, CHESTER COPPERPOT are making genuine pop-punk music and they're making it sound fresh and exciting again.
