Artist History
Members of this group have played together in one form or another since 1992. Bihlman, Cassello and Drag started the early 90's group YOUR NEIGHBORS who release two independent CD's and opened up for such notable acts as Aimee Mann, Squeeze, The Lemonheads, John Hiatt, Wilco, The Jayhawks and more. The group disbanded in 1996 splitting into 3 other projects: Markus Ello (Chicago), The Butterflies (Atlanta) and Long Division (Chicago). The Markus Ello group included such notable musicians as Brian Daley (The DeMilos), as well as Don Baker, Drake Blinco, Chris Funk and Jeff Dudzienski. The Markus Ello solo album was finished in 1996 and has yet to be officially released. After traveling in 1997, Mark Cassello, keeping true to his reclusive roots, dropped off the music scene for two years before returning with his new band 3 Tone Green in 1999. Recording with producer KEITH CLEVERSLEY (Flaming Lips, HUM, Mercury Rev, The Posies and more) the band finished a six song EP that also has never been released. After another year of time off, the group has changed their name to Straight "A" Kid and are preparing to enter the studio again in the summer of 2002 to complete a perfect 10 song pop masterpiece. |

Press Reviews
"Well-crafted Power Pop from Chicago that's both ultra-slick and remarkably catchy. Unexpected rhythmic shifts and swells lend the music a dynamic energy that keeps it exciting." -Listen.com, "Great vocals, Great Production, Upbeat, Catchy stuff!. Already being looked at by some top folks in the industry, and on the "pop will rock" Chicago based Sampler CD. These guys have some great stuff going for them. This song was really powerful, yet melodic at the same time!" -Brad, Indie Star Comm, Grp. |
