    Artist description
Unlike most acts that have a visual female performer for marketing purposes only. Meg Hackett is a performer who seems to break the stereotype of the typical solo artist. In her act she not only does covers such as Melissa Etheridge and Bonnie Raitt, but also she has the versatility to be able to perform so many different styles, anything from Elvis Costello to Elvis Presley. Sliced in between are her originals that are as varied as the performer.

Born in Greenwich, Connecticut, and raised in Weston, Connecticut. Meg started out as a soloist in 1977. Also has worked in a few rock & roll bands, of which Head First was the most successful, as well as Top 40 Bands. She has also recorded countless backup vocals for various original artists in the record industry. A well seasoned performer, mostly appearing in the eastern coastal area. She has toured Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Cape Cod and as far South as Florida (Orlando and Brevard County). She studied with Sal Salvador for six years along with another teacher, Steve Famigletti, who taught jazz guitar and Chamberlain's styles of playing. She has studied voice for several years with both Rose Finegan & Martha King. Her vocal influences, when narrowed down to one, would be Joni Mitchell and for guitar, Michael Hedges. In addition to being a performer, she has been an Entertainment Director for an exclusive club, doing bookings, promotions, as well as performing.

BRIDGEPORT POST - "Their goal: to bring the house down, most are mediocre. But now and then people with real talent slip through. During a recent open-mic night, Meg Hackett was one of those who slipped through - after keeping the 100 or so college-aged students glued to their seats with her buttersmooth reading of Joni Mitchell material." - Anthony B. Spinnelli, Jr. RHYTHM GUITAR - Her live performance has been touted as non-stop energy, professional, and a natural." -Art Thornton
