Artist description First Friday is a rock band formed at Brandeis University with meaningful lyrics and catchy hooks. The university had been overrun by the jam band scene and people who just wanted to listen to rock music had nowhere to turn. Two singer-songwriters, Ben Rathbun and Max Glantzman, joined with bassist Yari Sigal and drummer Jay Stone came together to create what was missing: a solid, danceable, enjoyable pop band with the ability to perform live. Since its formation, the band has done just that, helping to create a whole new scene on campus and playing entertaining shows for larger events and coffeehouses alike.
