    Artist History
At last it is available the new album of Imago Mortis: VIDA, The Play of Change. This album is about a person who discovers to suffer from VIDA, a terminal and hopeless disease. The listener is invited, along the twelve tracks of the play, to experience the encounter of this person with death. VIDA was based on researches and testimonies realized with terminal patients, as much as on artistic and philosophical work about the theme. The CD also includes a multimedia track, The Play of Change, an oracle game based on I Ching, the millenary Book of Change. This releasing continues a partnership with Die Hard Records that begun in 2001, with the CD WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE’S HAMLET. For this project, Imago Mortis composed the track Prayers in the Wind. Imago Mortis was born in February 1995, being baptized with the Latin expression for ‘image of death’. The band’s logo uses the symbol of Pluto, the Lord of Oblivion in the Greco-Roman mythology and the planet that represents death and doom in astrology. The demo RQUIEM, released in the same year, was extremely welcomed by underground public and press. During the next two years, the band played tirelessly wherever asked. In 1998 was released the CD IMAGES FROM THE SHADY GALLERY, acclaimed by musical press as one of the best Brazilian releases. This work is regarded mainly by the synthesis of contrasts, combining sad and somber tunes with a direct and aggressive appeal.
