Artist description
Backwoods Records presents the outstanding female vocal talent of Lynchburg, Virginia's own, 21 year-old Hip-Hop/R&B singer/songwriter artist, Alexis White, better known as Lex.
Lex's style of music is often compared to Urban R&B's top pioneers like: Faith, Mary J Blige, Kelly Price, Lil' Mo, and even those R&B Divas that now crossover to the pop market like: Beyonce, Mya, Monica, but still manages to keep her urban appeal.
Lex's music is what both young and old R&B fans are yearning to hear. She expresses herself, through her music, in a way that listeners can not only identify and relate to, Lex delivers you the real experiences of every girl in the new millennium.
Lex's album "Electricity" explodes with both hit songs and realistic versatile subjects.
"Get Even" is a hot danceable up-tempo song on Lex's album about a girl who finally breaks up with her boyfriend after she finds out that he has cheated on her. Well, Lex hips other women, that may be in a similar situation, to the 'sweetest revenge'....Get Even!! However, "Get Even", along with most of the songs on her album, is not a sad song at all. Her songs actually tend to give a positive outlook on life situations.
She also has quite a few inspirational songs on her project like "Light In You", which is a song about that special person that encourages you through all of the trials of life.
In total Lex's "Electricity" album shockingly offers feel-good records along with incredible, unique vocal performances that are electrifying along with the unmatchable high powered production provided by Backwoods Records.
