Artist History
The story started in the first cold months of 2001, when Anko, Klarine and Vincent decided to play some music, just for fun. That time, Anko also played the drums in another band, but when his band almost became " insane", he packed his "suitcase" and left the band. He went on playing with Klarine and Vincent. They discovered their musical talents that fit very well together and they started to become a real band.
To complete the heavy guitar sound, they asked Vincent's brother, Martijn, to join. This hairy guitar string abuser was very enthusiastic and jumped in it right away.
Dragonfly was born!!
They started playing cover songs of bands like The Gathering, Lacuna Coil, Anathema, Aryeon, etc. They also the started writing their own songs. This period was also a period of coming and going of bass players...... Actualy they already had given up the hope for a nice bass player, but then a local friend appears. Roy was his name and "the bass is his game", his bass sound would make the fundaments of dragonfly shake. Later on that year they would do some very succesfull live gigs.
Nowadays Dragonfly's setlist contains heavy metal songs, that were written by it's members. Rarely they play a classical heavy metal cover as a gift for it's audience. After the summer of 2002 they recorded their "Another Fear" demo cd. Five songs filled with heavy metal riffs and female vocals. |
