Artist description
To "answer" a passion . . . to "popularize" our past . . . John Spearn (var. Spearin), a teacher, performer, and songwriter, created and developed the now nationally acclaimed CDs Canada Songs (new for 2003), Northern Sightlines (2001 multiple award nominee), and an accompanying Classroom Resource Manual (Nelson Thomson Learning Inc.).
His amazing songs and captivating performances are memorable and evocative for any public audience. He is fast becoming a major influence in Canadian roots and folk music.
His early experiences were as a regular on CFRN television's popular Russ Thornberry Show, and as a front vocalist/guitarist with Headwind, one of Alberta's premier rock bands.
While he spends his summers as a professional touring performer, John strives to collaborate on, perfect, gather, and nurture material for the project's repertoire.
